
Learn the classics, toe-tappin' Fiddle or both! Violin lessons can begin for students as young as four and five years old, and we also teach adults. The Music Collection offers several qualified and experienced violin teachers that will instruct you in the style you prefer at a pace that works for you.
Megan Buffett - Violin/Fiddle, Viola
Megan has been playing the violin/fiddle for 13 years and viola for 11. She has been playing in orchestras for the past ten years, including the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra, Symphony New Brunswick, Newfoundland Symphony Youth Orchestra, Long Island Youth Orchestra and the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra. Her experiences in these orchestras have taken her to New York, China, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Morocco, where she has had the chance to learn a variety or different pieces with numerous teachers. She specializes in classical music, but has just as much love for fiddle music. She is currently studying viola at MUN in the BMus program.
Duncan Cameron - Violin/Fiddle, Mandolin, Bouzouki, Bodhrán, Dulcimer
Duncan Cameron plays ten instruments: fiddle, guitar, mandolin, bouzouki, bodhrán, whistles, harmonica, banjo, Appalachian dulcimer and English concertina and sings in French and English. His specialty is traditional music from Ireland, Scotland and Quebec. He has toured in Canada, U.S., the U.K., and Europe, with “The Magic of Ireland” dance and music show, Canadian Fiddle Grand Master Champion, Pierre Schryer, and Juno award-winning The Irish Descendants. He has been teaching for over 10 years privately, for various music schools, and for The Toronto District School Board. He has published several music books including Beginner’s Fiddle, and a collection of his own compositions.
