Trumpet, Trombone, Brass Lessons

Private Brass lessons are great for anyone! For students in school band, private lessons can greatly enhance not only a child’s proficiency, but also interest in their chosen Brass instrument. Private instruction will help them advance faster thanks to the one-on-one attention they usually don’t receive in a group band program. Brass lessons are typically available for ages 9 and up, including adults and seniors. Younger children do not have the lung capacity to handle wind instruments. The Music Collection offers lessons for Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium, Baritone, Tuba, and French Horn.

Katherine Moffat – Trumpet
Katherine Moffatt is currently in the fourth year of her Bachelor of Music in Trumpet Performance at Memorial University, studying under Dr. Alan Klaus. She performs extensively with the Wind Ensemble, Chamber Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, and Brass Ensemble at Memorial, and has played in the pit for local theatre productions including All Shook Up (Rennies River Productions) and Billy Elliot (Atlantic Light Theatre). She won the 2017 Memorial Concerto Competition, the 2017 Senior Instrument St. John’s Kiwanis Rose Bowl, and won the 2017 Provincial Brass competition, earning a spot in the FCMF National Music Festival. When Katherine is not playing the trumpet, she loves spending time in the outdoors hiking, skiing, or playing ultimate frisbee. Upon completion of her undergraduate degree, Katherine intends on pursuing trumpet performance at a graduate level.
