Group Music Classes for Young Children
Offering small group instruction for Infants, Toddlers, and Preschoolers – Melodic Minors is available in three levels based on age groups. Each level is held on a weekday morning throughout the school year. Each level is designed to help develop social skills and meet friends, develop motor skills, increase coordination and dexterity, improve language skills through singing and call & response, give confidence and grow self-esteem, nurture creativity and of course early and beginner music skills.
Level 1: Infants 4 months to 2 years
4 to 6 spaces, 45 minute sessions – Wednesdays 11:30 – 12:15, Torbay Road Studios
- With Beckett Spurrell
- Introduction to music concepts for babies and their families
- Parent attends class with their child
- How to use music to aid baby’s development
- How to incorporate music at home without instruments
- Social opportunities for babies and families
Level 2: Toddlers 2 to 4 years
4 to 6 spaces, 45 minute sessions – Thursdays, 10:30 – 11:15, Torbay Road Studios
- With Beckett Spurrell
- Social skill building and teamwork
- Basic rhythm concepts
- Singing and call & response
- Exposure to different instruments
- Music games, arts, and crafts
- Introduction to early ear training and aural skills
Level 3: Preschoolers 3 to 5 years
4 to 6 spaces, 50 minute sessions
Wednesdays 1:10 – 2:00, Torbay Road Studios or
Thursdays 11:30 – 12:20, Torbay Road Studios
- Wednesdays with Robyn Stacey, Thursdays with Beckett Spurrell
- Social skill building and team work
- Introduction to early music theory and notation
- Basic ear training and aural skills
- Playing musical instruments
- Basic rhythm concepts
- Music games, arts, and crafts
- Singing and call & response

Enabling students a chance to apply their skills in a group, rehearsing and performing together. Inspiring, yet fun and informal. Drumline, Vocal Performance, Rock Band or Ukelele.
